Role Description:
The Threat Intelligence Business Analyst plays a critical role in identifying and translating business problems and intelligence requirements into actionable solutions that support the strategic objectives of the Chief Security Office (CSO). Operating within a cross-functional analytics team, the role supports the development and delivery of capabilities within the DataWalk platform by gathering requirements, shaping operational designs, and ensuring stakeholder alignment.
The analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders, intelligence analysts, and technical teams, ensuring that solutions are viable, scalable, and embedded effectively across the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
β’ Identify and analyse business problems and intelligence requirements that require change or enhancement
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain, document, and validate business requirements for DataWalk
β’ Identify and assess the potential impact of proposed deliverables for example, improving existing processes and/or providing new intelligence capabilities.

β’ Work closely with decision analysts, data analysts, and data modellers to ensure analytical workflows meet business needs
β’ Champion a collaborative environment that promotes holistic intelligence analysis and cross-team integration
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
This is a critical role in a dynamic, collaborative team, requiring the role-holder to develop strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues across the Threat Intelligence function. The colleague will also regularly engage with our critical intelligence and analytics vendor β both on data science matters, and to develop wider relationships. The role holder may also attend industry-wide intelligence collaboration forums, so an ability to engage with peer analysts from other financial institutions is highly desirable.
S/he will demonstrate leadership by becoming a subject-matter expert in their field, and by engaging proactively and productively with a range of stakeholders across Group Control. The role-holder should be comfortable advocating for the use of analytics with internal customers and stakeholders. This will help integrate analytics into wider business decision-making.
While this role does not have formal People Leader responsibilities, s/he may also be responsible for training and mentoring Early Careers analysts, ensuring their development is in line with current and future Barclays career progression plans.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
This role requires the ability to demonstrate excellent critical thinking, attention to detail and knowledge of analytical techniques. The successful candidate will also be expected to dynamically prioritise stakeholders based on their influence, importance, and current requirements, and effectively identify and fulfil stakeholder needs while managing their expectations.
Risk and Control Objective
Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate is a business-focused analyst with strong communication and problem-solving skills, capable of navigating complex stakeholder environments and translating intelligence needs into structured solutions.
Attributes and Mindset
- Strong analytical skills to understand business processes, systems, and data
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working across diverse stakeholder groups, from operational teams to senior leadership
