Role Title: UI Lead Location: Glasgow Duration: 30/06/2026 End client: Barclaycard Days on site: 2-3 Rate to SSC (including supplier charge): 500£ MUST BE PAYE THROUGH UMBRELLA Role Description Lead UI Developer with GenAI Experience We are seeking a seasoned Lead UI Developer with over 12 years of experience in software development, specializing in ReactJS, frontend architecture, and Generative AI integration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong grasp of architectural principles, design patterns, and hands-on experience building scalable applications. Familiarity with Angular, Next.js, Node.js-based APIs, and GenAI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain) is a plus. This role demands a deep understanding of application compatibility, security, and API integration within modern cloud environments. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and development of robust, scalable, and maintainable UI applications. • Architect and implement GenAI-powered features such as intelligent assistants, content generation, and adaptive UI components. • Evaluate and apply architectural standards and design patterns for frontend and GenAI-enhanced solutions. • Develop high-performance user interfaces using ReactJS; Angular experience is a bonus. • Collaborate with backend teams to integrate Next.js or Node.js-based APIs and GenAI endpoints. • Ensure application compatibility across browsers and devices. • Implement security best practices in frontend and GenAI data handling. • Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews and technical discussions. • Work closely with DevOps and cloud teams to deploy and manage applications on AWS, including GenAI model hosting and orchestration. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Required Qualifications • 12+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on frontend technologies. • Proven expertise in ReactJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. • Solid understanding of architectural principles and design patterns. • Experience with API integration, especially using Next.js or Node.js. • Hands-on experience integrating GenAI models into frontend applications (e.g., chatbots, summarization tools, recommendation engines). • Knowledge of application compatibility, security, and performance optimization. • Familiarity with AWS services related to frontend deployment and GenAI model hosting (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock). \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Preferred Skills • Experience with Angular and hybrid frontend architectures. • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native development practices. • Familiarity with GenAI frameworks and libraries (e.g., LangChain, Transformers, OpenAI SDK). • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
