Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in
machine learning, deep learning, and image processing to join our dynamic team. The ideal
candidate will have proven track record of working with imagery (such as remote sensing and
plant phenotyping imaging) and will utilize advanced machine learning/deep learning techniques
to develop predictive models using this imagery.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with scientists from various discipline as well as IT and
engineering professionals, to deliver innovative analytics. Your expertise will play a critical role
in driving data and analytics driven informed decision making inΒ agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities
Data Science:
β’ You will leverage your expertise in image analysis, statistical analysis, machine learning,
and deep learning models to analyze complex imagery data, developing actionable
insights that drive agricultural operations.
β’ You will write comprehensive model documentation detailing problem formulation,
modeling approach, validation, data requirements, and implementation steps.
β’ You will adhere to data science best practices, including peer review, code review,
documentation, coding standards, and ensuring reproducibility.
Collaborate and Communicate
β’ You will build cross-functional relationships to partner with the business stakeholders
and collaborate with Data Science community to co-develop innovative
solutions.
β’ You will communicate results to key stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
We would expect from you:
β’ Experience: You have Ph.D. (or MS with 4+ years of post-MS experience) in one of the
following areas: Data Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Imagery and
Robotics.
β’ Imagery Experience: You have experience working with imagery and deriving insights
from imagery (such as remote sensing data and phenotyping imaging). Familiarity with
analytical techniques specific to image analysis is essential, and experience in plant
phenotyping image analysis is a significant advantage.
β’ Deep learning and Machine Leaning: You possess a strong understanding of machine
learning and deep learning frameworks, statistical concepts, and data analysis
techniques. Demonstrated proficiency, experience in using image labeling tools and
applying machine learning and deep learning methods to image data is highly desirable.
β’ Cloud Computing: You have familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS,
Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and understand how to leverage these tools for data
processing and model deployment.
RESTRICTED
β’ Programming: You are proficient in Python or other high level programming language
with hands on experience in using machine learning and deep learning libraries (eg.,
OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch etc). You are adept at writing clean and maintainable
code and adhere to coding best practices, including version control using Github.
β’ Soft skills: You have a high sense of ownership and are motivated to deliver valuable
analysis. You have excellent communication skills and can clearly explain technical
concepts to non-experts
