Role description
Job Title: Varicent Developer
Location: Full Onsite – Dallas, TX or Phoenix, AZ
Work Model: 5 days onsite (no remote / hybrid)
Job Summary
We are looking for a Varicent Developer to design, configure, and support our Varicent Sales Performance / Incentive Compensation platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with Sales Operations, Finance, and IT teams to translate business compensation plans into scalable technical solutions in Varicent, ensure data accuracy, and support monthly/quarterly commission cycles.
Key Responsibilities
• Varicent Configuration & Development
• Design, configure, and maintain Varicent compensation models, components, calculations, and workflows.
• Implement changes to plans, quotas, territories, and rules based on business requirements.
• Data Integration & Validation
• Develop and maintain data integrations between Varicent and source systems (CRM, ERP, HR, data warehouse).
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes and SQL queries for data loads.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution for incentive calculations.
• Reporting & Analytics
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and statements for sales, finance, and leadership.
• Support audit requests by providing transparent, well-documented calculation logic and data traces.
• Support & Operations
• Support monthly and quarterly commission runs, including testing, troubleshooting, and adjustments.
• Investigate and resolve user issues and defects in a timely manner.
• Document configuration, design decisions, and standard operating procedures.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work with Sales Operations, Finance, and HR to understand compensation plan changes and translate them into system requirements.
• Participate in requirement workshops, design reviews, and UAT with business users.
Required Qualifications
• Experience:
• 5–8+ years of overall IT or application development experience.
• 2–3+ years of hands-on experience working with Varicent (SPM/ICM) on implementation, enhancement, or support projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with Varicent modeling, components, and workflow.
• Proficiency in SQL (data extraction, transformation, performance tuning).
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.).
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and data integration between source systems and Varicent.
