• The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer occupies a unique role at the intersection of technology, marketing, finance, statistics, data mining, and social science.

• As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer with client Prime, you will work with our world-class marketing and technology teams to ensure that we continue to delight our customers.
• You will meet with business owners to formulate key questions, leverage client’s vast Data Warehouse to extract and analyze relevant data, and present your findings and recommendations to management in a way that is actionable.

Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluation of the performance of program features and marketing content along measures of customer response, use, conversion, and retention
• Statistical testing of A/B and multivariate experiments
• Design, build and maintain metrics and reports on program health
• Respond to ad hoc requests from business leaders to investigate critical aspects of customer behavior, e.g. how many customers use a given feature or fit a given profile, deep dive into unusual patterns, and exploratory data analysis
• Employ data mining, model building, segmentation, and other analytical techniques to capture important trends in the customer base
• Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions
Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects
• BIE team within Consumer category in client retail.
• Client retail is divided three families: Consumables (anything that has a shelf life), Hardlines (sold at client), Softline’s (related to fashion). HM’s team provides data analytic support to all of the work streams within Consumable spear.
• That work stream includes Supply Chain, B2B, vendor experience, Marketing, pricing selection, etc. Scope of this role would be supply chain, vendor experience, Safety and compliance.
Can you give me a little detail about your team culture?
Centralized BIE team provides data analytical support to 4 L8 orgs within Consumer.
• Team of 13 at the moment
• Team meetings bi-weekly cadence- sharing knowledge on workstreams
• In terms of support mechanism- they have a monthly sprint: discuss prioritization with L8 directs.
• They have internal mechanism - biweekly syncs to go through all requests
• Requests tracked through tickets: every ticket will have a different effort to resolve. They will be 13 projects/ office hour tickets a week. 1-2 tickets a week per contractor
• Monthly lunch and learn to share new learning within each spear of each other.

Interaction with team/Day to Day:
• Interacting w/ steak holders: in stock/product/ program managers
• As well as interactions with Data engineers supporting Consumables.
Training/ Ramp- up
• HM has created an onboarding plan on a quip document. Mostly this is similar to embark plan (all the key stakeholders to talk tool).
• Candidates will also be assigned an onboarding buddy as well. First 2 weeks will be setting up permissions and speaking with key folks.
• 3rd week will be focusing on project specific discussions.

Candidate Requirements
• Title: BIE
• Other similar titles: Data Engineer, Data scientist, NO BA as the tech skills are not there.
• Yrs Exp: 2-4 yrs
REQUIRED SKILLS
• 2-4 years of experience working with large-scale complex datasets
• Master
• Strong analytical mindset, ability to decompose business requirements into an analytical plan, and execute the plan to answer those business questions
• Strong working knowledge of SQL
• Background (academic or professional) in statistics, programming, and marketing
• SAS experience a plus
• Master degree in math/statistics, computer science or related field, or marketing is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, equally adept at working with engineers as well as business leaders
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Other script languages would be nice as well (Python, or something as they do a lot of automation, AWS tools)
Top 3 must-have hard skills
• Strong working knowledge of SQL
• Visualization Skills: not just tools but should be able to tell stories from visualization.
• Experience with ETL pipelining as well as statistical analysis. – basic how you figure out the root of the problem
