Role description
Business Solutions Analyst (Hybrid) Our client, an organization dedicated to ensuring opportunity and justice for all Californians, is actively seeking a Business Solutions Analyst for their Sacramento, California location. In this role, you will conduct Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, gather business rules, manage requirements in JIRA, and document system requirements to meet client needs. You will also assist in functional testing and stabilizing the implementation for the mandated enhancements to all impacted systems. This hybrid position is a 1+ year contract. Responsibilities for Business Solutions Analyst: β€’ Review all project-related documentation in support of the Project including, but not limited to all Legislation, system documentation, As-Is Business Process documentation, Business Process Reengineering Plan, Requirements Management Plan, and project management plans including any dependencies to ensure requirements are accurate. β€’ Develop and manage requirements in JIRA. β€’ Gather, interpret, and document business needs. β€’ Lead JAD Sessions to develop functional requirements. β€’ Develop and maintain system requirements documentation. β€’ Develop functional requirements. β€’ Develop use cases, test cases, and report specifications. β€’ Develop To-Be Workflow diagrams. β€’ Perform gap analysis and develop documentation. β€’ Validate systems functionality to ensure business needs are met. β€’ Document, train, mentor, and provide knowledge transfer. β€’ Perform functional, integration testing. β€’ Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT). β€’ Assist with identifying, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and system requirements to support the successful planning, implementation, stabilization, and closeout of software development lifecycle projects. β€’ Facilitate stakeholder engagement. β€’ Participate in all phases of the project by developing and maintaining business and functional requirements, process documentation, traceability matrices, and other relevant artifacts. Requirements/Qualifications for Business Solutions Analyst: β€’ A bachelor’s degree. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. β€’ 5+ years of experience applying analytical processes on IT projects. At least 3 years of that experience must have been in business systems analysis and design. β€’ 5+ years of experience serving as a Business Solution Analyst on complex application development project(s) and have experience facilitating JAD workshops with Subject Matter Experts and gathering and documenting requirements. β€’ 5+ years of experience being responsible for ensuring business needs are met by complex applications. This includes: β€’ Developing requirements traceability matrix β€’ Creating system design, configuration, and architecture specifications and diagrams β€’ Data dictionary and data modeling documentation and diagrams β€’ Documenting existing business processes β€’ Identifying opportunities for business process improvements β€’ Working with program areas to successfully implement business process improvements β€’ 3+ years of experience working on projects that followed the System Development Life Cycle process including iterative and agile methodologies. β€’ 3+ years of experience providing mentorship, knowledge transfer, and training to staff that will be taking over the Business Solution Analyst activities.
