Location: Hybrid β 1 Day/ Week in San Francisco downtown, Remote rest of the week
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join the Supply Chain IT Group of a leading multinational retailer. This is a long-term contract opportunity (12+ months) designed for professionals who are passionate about leveraging AI to solve complex business problems in the supply chain and IT space. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with AI and Co-Pilot tools, demonstrate strong capabilities in deploying agentic AI solutions, and be comfortable communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is a hybrid role, requiring one day per week onsite at our clientβs San Francisco downtown office, with the flexibility to work remotely the rest of the week.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the IT and supply chain domains to understand business challenges and identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions.
β’ Design, develop, and deploy AI and machine learning models tailored to optimize supply chain processes and decision-making.
β’ Utilize AI tools and frameworks to build agentic AI systems that can automate and augment complex tasks.
β’ Implement and manage Co-Pilot-style solutions to assist internal users with intelligent automation and data-driven decision support.
β’ Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations through compelling visualizations, presentations, and written reports.
β’ Work closely with IT stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of data science solutions into existing infrastructure and workflows.
β’ Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and supply chain technologies to continuously enhance solution capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
β’ Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of AI/ML projects.
β’ Strong hands-on expertise with AI tools, libraries, and frameworks.
β’ Demonstrated experience deploying agentic AI solutions (e.g., AI agents that perform autonomous decision-making or task execution).
β’ Strong understanding and practical experience with Co-Pilot tools.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
β’ Comfortable working in IT-driven environments, collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business users.
Preferred Skills:
β’ Experience in Supply Chain operations or technology is strongly preferred.
β’ Familiarity with cloud platforms and MLOps practices.
β’ Background in retail or logistics data analytics.
β’ Experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or enterprise knowledge management tools.
β’ Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in enterprise settings
