Cyber Recovery Managing Engineer
The Infrastructure Cyber Recovery Managing Engineer contributes to and directs and drives the engineering resources involved in the management of network computing, and storage infrastructure which supports Clean Room recovery capabilities. The Clean Room consists of the hardware and software platforms required to support the most critical business functions needed when normal production systems are not accessible or available. This role encompasses managing detailed system design as well as implementation, testing and coordination of operational maintenance of all related systems and technologies associated with the Clean Room. The Managing Engineer leads, counsels, motivates, sets expectations and evaluates the team responsible for maintaining the Clean Room. The Managing Engineer impacts the team and business results by working with the Clean Room Digital Product Manager to manage the prioritization and implementation of maintenance procedures and best practices for the Clean Room.
Managing Responsibilities:
β’ Manage team of up to 3-5 direct reports
β’ Manage budget for the Clean Room and its operations
β’ Supporting contract management for vendors associated with the Clean Room.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
β’ Experience in the delivery and support of Cyber Resiliency and Recovery Clean Room concepts and constructs
β’ Exposure to data protection technologies with capabilities to store immutable copies of data and that have data anomaly detection, such as Rubrik and Oracle s Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance.
β’ Understanding of core network switching and routing constructs
β’ Understanding of network security infrastructure management, such as firewall administration
β’ Exposure to virtual compute infrastructure management. Exposure to Nutanix AHV is a plus.
β’ Understanding of compute, storage and network infrastructure delivery through automation (IaaS).
Accountabilities:

β’ Manage day to day work of direct reports by working with the Clean Room product manager to review work backlogs and prioritization of work tasks.
β’ Coordinate with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
β’ Drive decisions that have an impact on quality, availability and effectiveness of business activities beyond immediate teams.
β’ Initiate and implement continuous improvements in the Clean Room; including automation of complex tasks and delivery of cyber-attack recovery related services
β’ Influence direct reports, clients, service providers and peers to successfully deliver on cyber resiliency goals and commitments.
β’ Partners with others in the organization to set and manage expectations associated with the Clean Room, continually seek opportunities to be a thought partner and deepen relationships.
β’ Adapt communication approach for audiences at multiple internal and external levels.
Education: Bachelor s degree preferred
Required Experience and Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of technical and people leadership.
β’ Experience leading or working in a geographically dispersed team environment.
β’ Experience working with enterprise level IT infrastructure platforms including Network, Network Security, Storage, Compute.
The role demands a sense of urgency, self-starter attitude, collaborative approach, and the ability to communicate effectively with directors, senior leadership, and VPs. Technologies involved include virtualization (Nutanix), storage (Hitachi Sands VSP model, NetApp), Cisco network shop, Infoblox DNS, Palo Alto firewall team, data protection (Rubrik/Oracle CDL), authentication, (Active Directory), Azure and AWS (SharePoint/Outlook), HP servers, databases (Oracle, SQL, possible Mongo), RedHat Linux, EF customer, Rancher/Kubernetes engineer (Rancher on Nutanix).
Will aid in New clean room build and will consist of managing 3-5 recovery engineers. Their responsibilities include managing team, constructing, maintaining, and establishing processes for moving workloads in and out, conducting regular tests on restores, recovery, and forensics on data, and managing the data center.
Access to the computer infrastructure will be limited to a few team members who will maintain and improve it, while also collaborating with other organizations on network, security, authorization, and firewall computing engineering. The managing engineer will oversee the entire process, requiring exposure to all areas, and assist in hiring cyber recovery engineers specializing in data protection, storage, and compute. The clean room will be built on-premises, as well as in Azure and AWS, with a contract-to-hire arrangement. The role is remote, with 4-5 site recovery engineers and requires infrastructure management experience and some people management experience/lead. The position is remote full-time, with candidates able to work EST or CST.
