Our client located in Irvine,CA is looking for a Data Analyst. It is a 1 year long contract.
Summary:
The main function of a Data Analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems, visualize in Power BI the data as per team requirements. Primary function is to support company PMO within a business unit; this is not an IT department facing role.
Job Responsibilities:
Database Expertise -
β’ Work with PPM tool, to support and identify tables for reporting. The analyst will update ingestion to include new tables, update semantic model, update reports as requested by stakeholders.
β’ Design, develop, deployment, manage on-going improvement of the data warehouse, portals and dashboards by partnering with stakeholders. Manage the complete data pipeline, from the data mart all the way through to end-user BI tools (e.g., data intake, validation, mining, modeling, visualization and reporting)
β’ Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
β’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
β’ Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
β’ Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
β’ Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
Analytical Expertise-
β’ Identify, evaluate, cleanse, organize, and assess value of disparate data sources. Identify data sources available and collect primary data where necessary.
β’ Partner with team to develop new analyses; collaborate with stakeholders through fact based analyses, drive change, and develop solutions. Continually improve user experience for Business Intelligence reports and dashboards
β’ Perform ad hoc analysis as assigned and actively identify new opportunities for value-add analytics.

β’ Data retrieval from PPM tool database using ODt connector for full and incremental loads
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
β’ 5-7 years applicable experience required
β’ Experience with database technologies
β’ Knowledge of the ETL process
β’ Knowledge of at least one scripting language
β’ Strong written and oral communication skills
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
β’ Demonstrated history of success
β’ Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions
