Role description
Job Title: Data Architect Location: Tulsa, OK (position is fully remote) Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $100000 - $110000 annually Contractor Work Model: Remote MUST HAVES: • GitHub • MS Fabric • MS Power BI • Enterprise Data Warehouse • Epic Clarity/Caboodle Job Summary: The Data Architect reviews and analyzes current data infrastructures, plans future databases, and implements solutions to store and manage data for the organization and its users. This role also supports the design, development, testing, implementation of processes that pull data from various source systems and integrate it into the data warehouse. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Five years of enterprise-level experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience. Experience within a healthcare environment preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Working knowledge in Cloud/ Big Data solutions or related technologies. • Working knowledge of data management and governance concepts. • Expertise in data architecture concepts such as data modeling, workflow management, ETL/ELT, and real time streaming. • Knowledge utilizing Microsoft Azure/Synapse/Power BI, SSIS, Epic EHR, or Workday ERP. • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices. • Excellent technical/non-technical oral and written communication skills. • Strong analytical ability to solve both business and technical problems with strong attention to detail. • Proficiency working on concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Works collaboratively across teams to understand quality and performance improvement agendas and corresponding data and analytics needs and recommends appropriate solutions. • Translates business requirements into databases, data warehouses, and data streams. • Identifies internal and external data sources to establish data pipelines and works with product owners to efficiently retrieve data. • Develops new data models and implements tables and supporting objects in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) database. • Assists with populating, automating, and maintaining metadata to make the EDW easier to navigate and to facilitate good data governance practices. • Develops solutions to monitor usage and performance of EDW and notifies appropriate team of any developing issues. • Implements new data integrations and supports changes to existing integrations. • Investigates performance issues with queries and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes on the EDW and initiates solutions to tune the database and optimize the speed of the loads. • Provides support to data analysts for the most complex problems, employing advanced SQL methods and innovative data visualization techniques. • Develops and conducts end-user training and education for the use of the EDW and its capacity for use in different areas of the organization. • Contributes to the definition, review, and adherence to the EDW team’s guiding principles as they relate to the overall architecture and design, development and support processes, and interaction with customers. • Interfaces with other teams in IT to ensure the EDW environments are up to date, backed up, and able to sustain expected growth in the future.
