Job Description We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to support large-scale data initiatives for our end client, Walmart. The ideal candidate will be based in California, have strong experience in building data pipelines, and be comfortable working in fast-paced retail or e-commerce environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes. Work with structured and unstructured data across various data platforms (cloud and on-prem). Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver reliable data solutions. Ensure data quality, governance, and integrity across datasets and sources. Optimize query performance and data storage for large-scale datasets. Work closely with Walmart’s internal tools, platforms, and data engineering standards. Required Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer in enterprise environments. Strong SQL and data modeling experience. Proficient in data pipeline tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Kafka, or similar. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable). Proficient in Python, Scala, or Java for data engineering tasks. Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.). Familiarity with data governance, data cataloging, and lineage tools. Must be currently residing in California – local candidates only. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with Walmart as a client or in their ecosystem. Experience with Walmart-specific data tools or standards (e.g., WMC, OneOps, etc.). Knowledge of retail, supply chain, or e-commerce data workflows. GCP Data Engineer certification is a plus. Job Type: Contract Pay: $45.64 - $54.96 per hour Work Location: On the road
