Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Governance Business Analyst (BA) in North Quincy, MA. Summary Our client is seeking an experienced Data Governance Business Analyst who can serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and the enterprise data governance team. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of project management, business analysis, SQL data exploration, and hands-on experience with data governance tools such as Collibra. This role will drive data governance initiatives from discovery to execution, ensuring business value is delivered through structured governance practices. Key Responsibilities:
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data-related challenges, priorities, and compliance needs
β’ Lead data governance initiatives including data cataloging, data quality rule implementation, and stewardship assignments
β’ Translate business problems into actionable governance use cases and technical requirements
β’ Manage the lifecycle of data governance projects including scoping, planning, tracking, stakeholder communication, and reporting
β’ Work with data stewards and data owners to define, assign, and monitor data ownership and accountability
β’ Use SQL to investigate data issues, validate assumptions, and trace data flows across systems
β’ Support metadata collection and business glossary development using Collibra or similar tools
β’ Facilitate working group sessions and governance councils to build alignment and drive decisions
β’ Assist with Collibra configuration (or coordinate with Collibra developers) to implement workflows, policies, and dashboards
β’ Provide documentation, training, and change management support as new governance capabilities are rolled out
Requirements
β’ 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management
β’ 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional data or IT projects
β’ Strong SQL skills for exploring data issues and validating root causes
β’ Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate them for technical teams
β’ Practical knowledge of Collibra or similar governance platforms (e.g., Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview)
β’ Experience working with data stewards, business analysts, and IT/data engineering teams
β’ Understanding of data governance frameworks, data lineage, and data quality principles
β’ Strong organizational, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
β’ PMP, CIMP, or Collibra certification is a plus
β’ Experience using Collibra Data Intelligence Platform
β’ Familiarity with data catalog and lineage tools, and integration with source systems
β’ Background in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with data compliance needs, especially with BCBS 239
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
