Role description
We are seeking an experienced DBT Developer with strong Snowflake expertise to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and optimize scalable data models, transformations, and pipelines in support of advanced analytics and PHM (Population Health Management) AI Insights initiatives. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical development and collaborative problem-solving with business and analytics teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain DBT models and data transformations to enable advanced analytics and reporting.
Develop and optimize Snowflake-based data pipelines, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to deliver PHM AI Insights through structured and unstructured data.
Implement and maintain data quality, governance, and testing frameworks within DBT.
Integrate multiple data sources into Snowflake, ensuring accuracy and consistency of healthcare/PHM data sets.
Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, design data solutions, and deliver on business needs.
Troubleshoot performance issues, optimize SQL queries, and ensure data reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
6–9 years of experience as a Data Engineer / DBT Developer.
Advanced hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, pipeline development).
Strong expertise in DBT (Data Build Tool) for building and deploying transformations.
Solid background in SQL development and optimization.
Experience working with PHM (Population Health Management) data sets and AI-driven healthcare insights.
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT, and cloud-based data platforms.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and version control for DBT projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a remote, collaborative environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Exposure to Python for data engineering or AI/ML integration.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, claims data, EMR/EHR).
Knowledge of modern orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt Cloud, Dagster).
Experience working in an AI/ML or advanced analytics environment.
