Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Consultant (Level 4) to join our team in Uptown Charlotte. This is a lead-level role, ideal for professionals who are strong technically and comfortable mentoring others. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience in Ab Initio, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), and data processing tools such as BigQuery, PySpark, and Python. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor team members in the design and development of data pipelines and engineering solutions • Drive end-to-end implementation using Ab Initio, GCP, BigQuery, PySpark, and Python • Provide guidance on architecture, design patterns, and best practices • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues • Communicate technical decisions and rationale clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Support development and deployment processes in a cloud-native environment Must-Have Qualifications: • 7+ years of experience in software/data engineering roles • Strong, hands-on expertise in Ab Initio (critical and non-negotiable) • Strong experience with GCP, including: • BigQuery • PySpark • Python • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or coaching technical teams • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills • Must be local to Charlotte (Uptown) – remote is not an option Nice-to-Have: • Experience with Teradata • Prior exposure to hybrid environments with both cloud and on-prem systems Work Authorization: • H1B transfers are acceptable for the contract • FTE conversion is NOT available for H1B candidates
