Power BI Developer (Contract – Remote)
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join a dynamic healthcare-focused project. This is a contract opportunity with a leading consulting partner, supporting one of their enterprise healthcare clients. The role is 100% remote and requires someone who can work independently to design, develop, and optimize data visualization solutions.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and dataflows to support business and clinical operations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to gather requirements and translate them into actionable reporting solutions.
• Optimize existing dashboards and dataflows for performance, scalability, and usability.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all reporting deliverables.
• Develop documentation, training, and best practices for end users to maximize adoption of reporting tools.
• Participate in data governance and quality assurance initiatives to maintain consistency across reporting platforms.
Required Skills
• Proven experience as a Power BI Developer working with enterprise-scale datasets.
• Strong expertise in Power BI Dataflows, DAX, and Power Query (M language).
• Hands-on experience designing and building interactive dashboards and reports.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar).
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while engaging stakeholders in a professional, consultative manner.
Preferred Skills
• Experience working in healthcare or life sciences data environments.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse).
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PHI, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance speed and quality in delivery.
