Science Logic/DevOps Engineer
This company is looking for an Infrastructure Monitoring and AIOps Cloud Engineers with hands-on expertise in ScienceLogic SL1 to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under the Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS) program. This role focuses on enhancing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud application monitoring within the VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC). Candidates must have strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The company is located in the D.C. Area and will remain 100% remote.
What You Will Be Doing
β’ Provide end-to-end operational support and maintenance for ScienceLogic environments.
β’ Configure, operate, and maintain ScienceLogic SL1 for new and existing systems hosted in VAEC.
β’ Continuously fine-tune VAEC Operational Tools (VAECOT) to proactively monitor cloud environments and ensure SLAs are consistently met or exceeded.
β’ Integrate SL1 with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow and JIRA Workflow Manager.
β’ Support development of KPIs and real-time operational dashboards.
β’ Create tailored SL1 user and admin guides for VA teams.
β’ Deliver training sessions on SL1 features to end users.
β’ Interpret SL1 findings and optimizations for application teams.
β’ Assist in capacity planning and future infrastructure needs for SL1.
β’ Participate in on-call rotation to support 24x7 SL1 operations within VAEC.
Required Skills & Experience:
β’ Minimum 6 years of experience configuring and operating AWS cloud tools to meet performance targets, SLAs, and compliance standards.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related technical field or an active AWS/Azure certification (e.g., AWS Professional/Specialty or Azure Expert/Advanced).
β’ Proven experience implementing shared services, migrating applications, and managing cloud-based enterprise systems.
β’ At least 2 years of experience with ScienceLogic SL1, including:
β’ Designing, deploying, and managing SL1 in cloud or hybrid environments.
β’ Working with AIOps monitoring, application monitoring, and compliance tools.
β’ Customizing SL1 configurations and optimizing template reuse.
β’ Expertise with AWS as a VAEC Cloud Service Provider.
β’ Must be eligible to pass a background check for a Public Trust (High-Risk) clearance.
