Description Senior Data Engineer The Role We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to play a key role in advancing our data management space. This position involves analyzing existing mainframe systems, dissecting and documenting legacy code, and identifying current data input and retrieval processes. The ideal candidate will also bring cloud expertise and development experience to help define database development standards as we transition from mainframe systems to modern architectures. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires translating business requirements into technical specifications and implementing them effectively. We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage multiple priorities, and works well with minimal supervision. The Expertise and Skills You Bring • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics required with +6 years’ experience; Master’s degree preferred • Solid experience in writing complex SQL queries on Oracle (PL/SQL) • Hand-on experience with performance optimization and tunning approaches, SQL tuning. • Public Cloud expertise (Azure preferred) • Experience working with large data sets. • Experience with ETL strategies, design, and development. • Experience with resiliency and stability design principals, including Site Reliabilitity Engineering (SRE). • Familiarity with large complex system design • Familiarity with distribution application design and development (Java, .Net, Python) would be a plus. • Shell scripting experience. • Linux environment experience. • Knowledge on CD process and tools and practices (preferably GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, Artifactory etc.) • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills and comfortable in summarizing technical information. • Ability to collaborate with other developers and co-workers including distributed team members • Agile/Scrum experience or basic knowledge The Team We are continuously looking to improve the team.
