Senior Scientific Data Analyst 📍 Onsite | Bethesda, MD or Northern Virginia 🕒 Part-Time | 30 hours/week | Monday–Friday We’re seeking a skilled and driven Senior Scientific Data Analyst to support critical research initiatives in neurogenetics and public health. Based 100% onsite at a partner site in Northern Virginia, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact data science within one of the world’s leading biomedical research environments. What You’ll Do In this key senior-level role, you will: • Lead and contribute to statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic, public health, and biomedical data • Support neurogenetics research through rigorous data modeling, visualization, and interpretation • Contribute to research publications and preprints, presenting novel insights and statistical methodologies • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, clinicians, and project managers • Assist with project and data management, ensuring reproducibility, transparency, and compliance with NIH standards • Contribute to the development of data science strategies and analysis pipelines for large-scale projects Who You Are Required Qualifications ✅ PhD in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline — or MD with MPH and 1+ years of experience — or MS with 7+ years of applied experience ✅ At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: • Public health research • Applied data science / AI in biomedical domains • Project or data management • Software development for scientific applications • ✅ Authored or co-authored 25+ publications or preprints in neurogenetics, computational biology, or statistical data science Preferred Skills ⭐ Experience with large-scale genomic data sets and tools (e.g., PLINK, GATK, Bioconductor) ⭐ Proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical programming environments ⭐ Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks in public health and life sciences ⭐ Prior collaboration with NIH or similar research institutions Why Join Us Join a mission-driven environment supporting groundbreaking research in neuroscience and data-driven public health.
