Weβre seeking a skilled and driven Senior Scientific Data Analyst to support critical research initiatives in neurogenetics and public health. Based 100% onsite at a partner site in Northern Virginia, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact data science within one of the worldβs leading biomedical research environments.
What Youβll Do
In this key senior-level role, you will:
β’ Lead and contribute to statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic, public health, and biomedical data
β’ Support neurogenetics research through rigorous data modeling, visualization, and interpretation
β’ Contribute to research publications and preprints, presenting novel insights and statistical methodologies
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including bioinformaticians, epidemiologists, clinicians, and project managers
β’ Assist with project and data management, ensuring reproducibility, transparency, and compliance with NIH standards
β’ Contribute to the development of data science strategies and analysis pipelines for large-scale projects
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
β
PhD in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or a related discipline β or MD with MPH and 1+ years of experience β or MS with 7+ years of applied experience
β
At least 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
β’ Public health research
β’ Applied data science / AI in biomedical domains
β’ Project or data management
β’ Software development for scientific applications
β’ β
Authored or co-authored 25+ publications or preprints in neurogenetics, computational biology, or statistical data science
Preferred Skills
β Experience with large-scale genomic data sets and tools (e.g., PLINK, GATK, Bioconductor)
β Proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical programming environments
β Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks in public health and life sciences
β Prior collaboration with NIH or similar research institutions
