Title- Sr. Cloud and FinOps Engineer β Level 3
Location: Dallas, TX (Remote is an option)
We are seeking strong Senior Cloud Engineers with experience in AWS architecture, operations, and cloud financial management (FinOps). Candidates must have prior federal experience, a strong understanding of compliance and governance, and the ability to lead in both technical implementation and cloud cost optimization.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Experience working in 24x7 Operations and Managed Service model, supporting external customers.
β’ Long working knowledge and experience of AWS (Azure and GCP optional) Services and Offerings such as Infrastructure, Networking, Messaging, Application Services, Migration Services, Cost Management Platform
β’ Working knowledge of Configuration Management (Ansible preferred) Continuous Integration Tools (GitLAB, GitHub, Jenkins)
β’ Prior experience provisioning and spinning up Kubernetes Clusters and managing Kubernetes installations
β’ Hands on Terraform experience
β’ Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
β’ Experience working in Federal or State government environments
β’ Understanding of Security and Vulnerability management and related tools (OKTA, Tenable, TrendMicro, XSoar, CyberARK)
β’ In depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows Environment
β’ End to End configuration & trouble shooting of the web and application servers (Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, IIS)
β’ Good written and verbal English communication
β’ Production experience to build scalable systems (load balancers, memcached, master/slave architectures)
β’ Experience supporting a managed services infrastructure (Public cloud)
β’ Prior work with Cloud Monitoring tools (Dynatrace preferred, DataDog, Nagios, Cacti, CloudWatch, Gnaglia, etc.)
β’ Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc)
β’ Other Open Source tools used in the infrastructure space (Packer, Terraform, Vagrant, etc.)
β’ Expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
β’ Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, and multi-account governance
β’ Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
β’ Experience designing secure, scalable AWS environments in federal settings (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53)
β’ Proficient in Kubernetes deployment on AWS (EKS preferred)
β’ Experience with AWS billing tools: Cost Explorer, Budgets, Trusted Advisor, Cost & Usage Reports (CUR)
β’ Strong understanding of AWS pricing models (On-Demand, Savings Plans, RIs)
β’ Hands-on experience with FinOps automation and reporting (e.g., Athena, QuickSight, Python-based tooling)
β’ Familiarity with the FinOps Framework (inform, optimize, operate)
β’ Proven track record working in U.S. federal cloud environments
β’ Deep knowledge of FedRAMP compliance, cloud audit readiness, and related security controls
β’ Experience coordinating with federal stakeholders and understanding of procurement/cost allocation models
