Job Title: Azure Cloud Engineer Location: Remote (USA) Work Authorization: USC/GC Holder only Job Type: 6-month Contract Employment Eligibility: Gravity cannot transfer nor sponsor a work visa for this position. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer directly (we are not open to contract or β€œcorp to corp” agreements). Job Summary: The Cloud Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the design and implementation of core cloud (Azure) infrastructure components. Utilizes advanced technical skills to coordinate design, enhancement, and deployment efforts, and provide insight and recommendations for operating enterprise cloud infrastructure solutions. Works closely with cloud application and infrastructure support teams, project managers, network and system engineers, and other technology support teams. Documents critical design and configuration details required to support the delivery of enterprise cloud services. Duties and Responsibilities β€’ Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, supporting Python and SQL-based automation processes. β€’ Support the development team by managing Azure Repos, facilitating version control and automated job execution for consistent code management. β€’ Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders on data migration and infrastructure modernization initiatives. β€’ Deploy, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure technology including endpoint management solutions, cloud storage solutions and system virtualization in cloud infrastructure. β€’ Deliver end-to-end enterprise infrastructure management solutions in a cloud environment, including system capacity and performance monitoring and optimization. β€’ Support the full lifecycle of enterprise-wide Azure and other owned Cloud Infrastructure. β€’ Improve infrastructure operations by driving the adoption of cloud infrastructure management tools throughout the team including the use of automation for system deployment and system scaling. β€’ Design and execute on-premises to cloud migration plans. β€’ Support the enterprise infrastructure team by participating in incident and problem resolution. β€’ Serve as a consultant to the business and IT teams to determine the most appropriate cloud solution required for business projects as a subject matter expert in the areas of technology design and support. This role requires the ability to help teammates and demonstrate innovative thinking in both the design and execution phases of technology infrastructure. β€’ Provide systems and application support to users who have varying degrees of knowledge with computer systems by communicating effectively and applying your experience. β€’ Leverage teammates, knowledge bases, technology forums, and vendor support to perform root cause analysis and implement controls to prevent outages. β€’ Create and maintain technical documentation, end user documentation, and system administration documentation using standard desktop software tools. β€’ Train others (primarily within the technology area) for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing infrastructure systems and applications throughout the enterprise. β€’ Participate in an on-call rotation for escalated matters. Desired Experience/Skills: β€’ Bachelor’s degree or seven years of related experience is commensurate to the education required. β€’ 5+ years in cloud engineering roles with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. β€’ 3+ years building and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (experience with tools like Octopus or Bitbucket also relevant). β€’ 3+ years working with Python, especially in job automation and infrastructure-as-code contexts. β€’ Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or similar virtual desktop environments. β€’ Familiarity with SQL queries and general database concepts. β€’ Experience migrating infrastructure and data from on-prem to the cloud. β€’ Expertise monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting complex cloud and on-prem infrastructure systems and network environments. β€’ Experience with a wide variety of IT systems, cloud, and networking as they relate to the implementation and deployment of new sites. β€’ Proficiency in designing and supporting Azure cloud and on-prem servers and services including Azure subscriptions and infrastructure. β€’ Supporting infrastructure requirements and deployments for new buildouts and acquisitions. β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. β€’ Independent judgement and decision-making abilities. β€’ Demonstrable experience with detailed documentation and formal policies and procedures. β€’ Strong oral and written communication skills Preferred Experience: β€’ Exposure to Azure Data Warehouse, Azure Sentinel, or data warehousing principles. β€’ Experience with VMware Hyper-V, on-prem infrastructure, or data center environments. β€’ Understanding of network appliances (Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, etc.) and IT infrastructure components like UPS devices and telephony systems. β€’ Familiarity with healthcare environments or security/compliance-heavy industries is a plus. β€’ Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.) β€’ Networking and security certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco)
