Data Migration Engineer

Our client, a well-known music entertainment company, is looking for someone to join their team as a Data Migration Engineer. This role is fully remote! • This is a 6 month W2 contract with benefits offered • In this role, you will use tools to setup and run migrations and post migration reporting. You will scan and report on the environment using existing automated scripts and gather post migration feedback. What You Will Be Doing • Interpret reports to suggest organization of data for optimum performance, security and usability and work with business managers to agree a final outline, ensuring compliance • Working with project team and business units to confirm migration plan, manage preparation timing, re-syncing data and final cutovers • Assist pre and post migration with any issues and best practices (remediating and re-organizing data, removing duplicates and stale data) • Work with Communication and User Experience teams on feedback and to inform best practice • Update support documentation for post migration support teams • Actively suggest updates to streamline the migration process • Manage ongoing requests and support tickets Required Skills & Experience • Hands-on experience with tools like BitTitan, SkyKick, ShareGate, Google Workspace Migrate, Azure Data Factory, or custom ETL solutions. • Strong knowledge of scripting (Python, PowerShell, SQL) for automation, transformations, and validation. • Understanding of structured/unstructured data, APIs, and staging processes (SFTP, cloud storage, etc.). • Ability to profile, clean, and transform data to ensure accuracy and integrity during migrations. • Experience working in structured migration projects (phased rollouts, blackout windows, checkpoints, reporting). • Ability to create repeatable, documented processes that scale across acquisitions and environments.
