Role description
Skyp AI is building intelligent outbound engagement infrastructure for modern businesses. Our platform combines AI automation with email, CRM, and collaboration workflows to drive sales and growth. By integrating with tools like Gmail, SendGrid, Slack, and Linear, Skyp AI helps companies scale personalized outreach and streamline business development with measurable results.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Contractor β Full-Stack Developer to support our work at Skyp AI. This role involves building and shipping production-ready code, collaborating closely with our San Franciscoβbased core team, and contributing to product development with a strong focus on multi-agent LLM workflows (planning, orchestration, tool-use, memory, guardrails, and evaluation). The engagement is remote and flexible.
The current codebase is a well-architected system with Docker containerization, comprehensive authentication, payment integration, and multiple external API integrations. Youβll join a project with solid foundations and clear growth opportunities.
Timezone & Collaboration
β’ Expected overlap: 3β4 hours/day with Pacific Time (SF) for standups, pair sessions, and reviews.
β’ Comfortable with async work (PRs, design docs, written RFCs).
Responsibilities
β’ Design, implement, and maintain Next.js frontend components and FastAPI backend services.
β’ Build and orchestrate multi-agent LLM workflows (e.g., planner/critic/executor patterns, tool calling, memory, safety/guardrails).
β’ Collaborate with the founders and SF team on scope, requirements, and timelines; work async with clear written specs.
β’ Write clean, maintainable, testable code and CI-friendly tests.
β’ Integrate with Gmail API, Stripe, OpenAI/LiteLLM, Slack, Calendly (and additional providers as needed).
β’ Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across services (API latency, queue throughput, DB queries).
β’ Document technical decisions, agent graphs, prompts, and architecture (ADR/RFC style).
β’ Uphold data security and privacy best practices (PII handling, OAuth scopes, secrets management).
Requirements
Must-Haves
β’ Proficiency in Python (FastAPI), TypeScript/JavaScript (Next.js 15, React), PostgreSQL, and Docker.
β’ Demonstrated experience delivering production systems end-to-end.
β’ Hands-on experience with LLM integration and at least one multi-agent/orchestration approach (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, custom DAGs, tool-calling pipelines).
β’ Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate across time zones.
β’ Strong communication in English.
β’ Tooling expectation: You actively use Cursor and Claude Code (or equivalent AI coding copilots) and maintain high-quality prompt/agent artifacts.
Nice-to-Haves
β’ Email automation & deliverability, CRM/RevOps systems, SQLAlchemy, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn UI.
β’ OAuth2 flows, webhook processing, background job scheduling (APScheduler), Redis (queues/caching/rate limits).
β’ β Prompt design, evaluation frameworks, RAG pipelines, safety/guardrail tools.
β’ Background in SaaS, marketing automation, or sales tools.
β’ Familiarity with privacy/regulatory considerations relevant to EU users (e.g., GDPR-aware data handling).
Relevant Domain Experience (Highly Valuable)
β’ Email infrastructure & deliverability: SMTP fundamentals; SPF/DKIM/DMARC; domain warming; reputation management; threading; bounce/reply parsing; Gmail API quotas/thread/message models; Google Workspace vs. O365 nuances.
β’ Outbound/RevOps & CRM: lifecycle states, pipeline hygiene, enrichment/deduping; HubSpot/Salesforce objects and sync patterns; lead assignment and SLAs.
β’ Marketing automation & experimentation: A/B testing and multi-armed bandits, holdouts, attribution models, event instrumentation, causal inference basics.
β’ Data & analytics: event schemas, cohorting, funnel analysis, BI/reporting (e.g., PostHog/Segment), ROI modeling.
β’ Integrations ecosystem: LinkedIn automation patterns; enrichment providers (Clearbit, Apollo, etc.); email providers (SendGrid, Postmark, SES).
β’ Security & privacy: GDPR-aware data flows, least-privilege OAuth scopes, secrets management, PII handling, data retention; awareness of CAN-SPAM/ePrivacy/PECR constraints for outbound.
β’ Growth/SaaS: pricing, seat/role models, usage metering, tenant isolation, enterprise SSO/SCIM.
Key Development Areas (Next 3 Months)
AI-Powered Features & Multi-Agent Orchestration
β’ Advanced message personalization using cooperating agents (planner/rewriter/QA guard).
β’ Smart campaign optimization (bandits/A-B tests) with agent-driven experimentation.
β’ Intelligent contact segmentation with agentic enrichment and rules engines.
β’ Prompt/version management, offline evaluation, and feedback loops.
Email Automation & Deliverability
β’ Multi-channel email sending infrastructure and routing logic.
β’ Advanced bounce/reply handling, threading, and deduping.
β’ Email warming, domain health monitoring, and reputation management.
Analytics & Reporting
β’ Campaign performance dashboards, cohort views, attribution.
β’ Contact engagement tracking, revenue impact, and ROI analytics.
Integration Expansions
β’ LinkedIn automation capabilities.
β’ CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce).
β’ Additional email providers beyond Gmail.
Enterprise Features
β’ Team collaboration tools and permissions.
β’ Advanced user management & SSO.
β’ API rate limiting, observability, and scaling optimizations.
Engagement Details
β’ Contract Type: Independent contractor (1099 or equivalent)
β’ Duration: 3 months, extendable based on performance and roadmap needs
β’ Hours: 20β40 hours/week (deliverable-focused)
β’ Compensation: Market-based β please include proposed hourly or monthly rate
β’ Location: Remote with 3β4 hrs/day PT overlap
