Migration Engineer

Data Migration Engineer Pay Rate/Range: $65.00 - $73.00 Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Location: Remote in the New York, NY area Duration: 6 months Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with project leaders, business units, and stakeholders to define migration goals, timelines, and expectations. • Run pre- and post-migration scans using automated tools, interpret reports, and recommend data organization strategies for performance, security, and compliance. • Gather user feedback post-migration and coordinate with UX/Communication teams to refine processes and improve user experience. • Support migration execution including data syncing, cutovers, remediation, reorganization, and duplicate/stale data removal. • Provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and best practice guidance during pre- and post-migration phases. • Maintain accurate documentation, update support resources, and streamline processes for future migrations. • Manage requests and support tickets, escalating as needed, while ensuring timely resolution. • Work internationally with cross-time zone teams (Europe mornings, Asia afternoons) to support global migration projects. • Update project trackers (e.g., Monday boards, SharePoint files) and coordinate with partners for smooth migration execution. • Archive data as required and participate in special projects as assigned. Top Skills & Expertise • Technical Migration Tools & Scripting: Proficient with BitTitan, SkyKick, ShareGate, Box Shuttle, Google Workspace Migrate, Azure Data Factory, PowerShell, SQL, Python, and ETL workflows. • Data Analysis & Validation: Skilled in profiling, cleaning, transforming, and reconciling structured/unstructured data; strong SQL validation and reporting background. • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Experienced in diagnosing failures, schema mismatches, and access/auth issues; adept in rollback/cutover strategies. • Project Management & Process Discipline: Strong experience in structured rollouts, compliance-driven environments, and process documentation for scalability. • Collaboration & Communication: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams, translate technical details into business language, and present to leadership. Requirements • 5+ years of experience in data migration, IT infrastructure, or related fields. • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint Migration Manager, OneDrive migrations, Microsoft Purview Compliance Data Lifecycle Management, CyberArk, and MS Power Platform. • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project collaboration tools. • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills. • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while driving results in fast-paced environments.
